Hey guys,

I've learnt a lot of java at late and learnt all my OOP with java.

I am planning a PHP application with a MySQL database. My question is whats the best and most flexible way to go from instantiating my objects to storing them in a database and then recreating the object from the database? I know there are object orientated databases out there but I don't want to limit myself with one of these.

Does anyone have any tutorials or recommend any books so I can learn how to do this effectively and efficiently?

Cheers

I guess what you are interested in is Object Relational Mapping (How to map objects to relational database)

here are few pointers to projects on this matter:

http://pear.php.net/package/DBA_Relational
http://www.meta-language.net/metastorage.html
http://propel.phpdb.org/trac/
http://www.ezpdo.net/blog/cats/ezpdo

I hope those pointers put you on the trail
